Acceptable use policy

Last updated: 26 May 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what you may and may not do on TutorPool. It applies to everyone who uses the platform — students, parents, guardians, and tutors — and forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. What TutorPool is for

TutorPool is a marketplace that connects students and parents with independent tutors for legitimate educational tutoring. It may only be used for that purpose and in a way that is lawful, honest, and respectful of other users.

2. Prohibited activities

You may not use TutorPool to:

3. Prohibited goods and services

TutorPool may not be used to facilitate or pay for anything unlawful or outside legitimate educational tutoring. This includes, without limitation, fraud, money laundering, adult or sexual services, illegal drugs, weapons, gambling, or academic dishonesty such as sitting exams or writing assessments on a student’s behalf.

4. Payments

All payments for lessons must be made through the platform’s approved payment methods. Attempting to move payments off-platform, disguise the nature of a payment, or misuse the payment system is a serious breach of this policy and may be reported to our payment providers and the relevant authorities.

5. Reporting misuse

If you see conduct that breaches this policy, report it to support@tutorpool.co.za, or for concerns involving a child, to safeguarding@tutorpool.co.za.

6. Enforcement

We may remove content, restrict features, and suspend or terminate accounts that breach this policy — with or without prior warning, depending on the severity. Where required by law we will report unlawful activity to the authorities. Serious breaches may also result in the withholding or reversal of payouts.
